In the eighties, there were less than a dozen Condors in California due to loss of habitat and poisoning by lead in the carrion they fed on. Because of successful recovery efforts by several groups, California now has over 500 birds.
Condors can have a wingspan of nine feet and a lifespan of 60 years. And check out the hair do!
